All The Way Up To Eleven: Kaleidoscope's New Fundraising Record!

Kaleidoscope started 2008 in the hope that our fundraising total might exceed the £10000 mark by the end of the year. After a truly exceptional twelve months for our group, we are proud to announce that not only did we hit this target, but we massively surpassed it to a new all-time record!

The events in March, June and September raised £121.79, £108.37 and £167.00 each respectively. Blue Peter Goes Gold! added a staggering £1107.46 to the RNLI's funds, while our traditional Christmas event and charity auction ended the year on a high with £907.70 raised.

This brings Kaleidoscope's fundraising total for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution during 2008 to a phenomenal £2412.32 and our overall total since 1994 to £11638.57. This is over £1000 higher than our previous record for a single year in 2005 - a brilliant result.

Sue Coombes, Honorary Secretary of RNLI Stourbridge Branch, said:

"You all did brilliantly last year - many congratulations and, of course, a huge thank you from all at the RNLI, RNLI Stourbridge Branch and, most of all, the RNLI's volunteer crews."

Thanks to everyone who supported our events throughout 2008, and donated so generously to this worthy cause. With 2009 already off to a flying start, we are looking forward to another successful year supporting our designated charity.
