Here Come The Pipkins... On DVD!
(At Last...)

Pipkins - Volume One Pipkins - Volume Two Our good friend and former guest Nigel Plaskitt passed along some early details of DVD plans for one of Kaleidoscope's most loved and oft-requested series, Pipkins! After what seems like an eternity of waiting, false starts and plans falling through, yes, it has finally arrived on home video.

Released in April 2005 was Pipkins - Volume One from Network, featuring a selection of ten episodes from throughout the series' run and some interesting extras including scripts and a photo gallery.

Before the release, when asked for comment about whether the rumours of audio commentaries on the disc were true, former Kaleidoscope guest Hartley Hare said:

"Absolutely preposterous! I would never share my limelight with the Pig!"

This first volume proved to be hugely popular, and was quickly followed by a second 2-disc set in September, much to the satisfaction of Hartley Hare: "I am delighted, though not in the least surprised, at the success of my first DVD. All my fans will be able to enjoy even more of me in the next one."

The second volume again featured the pick of the remaining episodes and some superb extras including interviews with the cast and crew, all the surviving footage from "On The Canal" and "21st Century Pipkins", an episode made especially for the DVD which brought things wonderfully up to date.
